Why Should Every Runner Use a Spin Bike

If you have not taken any spinning class yet, I suggest trying once. Spinning can do magic for your running and you will enjoy it a lot! It will help you burn a lot of calories and being challenged from time to time.

You may get confused between a bike ride and spinning if you do not know the actual difference between them. There are some major differences between them but the similarity is that both of them include cycling. I will try my best to show you some basic differences between them.

Why should the runners use a spin bike?

Spinning is a form of exercise that is performed on specially designed spinning bikes. It can be done indoors, with a group of people, and guided by an instructor who chooses music for specific classes. Most of the classes end up within 45 minutes. Nevertheless, the hard-core spinners at the gym may take two/three spinning classes at a stretch!

You may think it is similar to the relaxed bike riding within your neighborhood. If you are still thinking so, you are quite wrong. The whole this is more intense in real. Spinning exercise is more difficult and includes a high-speed 20-mile ride on different terrains.

You can ride on your own mountain bike and go on off-road trails for that exercise. It is very tough and need more hard work to get accomplished. However, eventually, it will be beneficial to your body. The hamstrings and quads bear impressive proof of those benefits.

If you are interested in spinning, you may get yourself admitted into a class at the gym. Try at least once to feel the difference. You may think your feet will fly off the pedals and pride is dashing out the door, but you will know what it is after doing it yourself. See a typical spin bike class in this video:

At a stage of spinning, the instructor may ask you for being suspended several inches above the seat for a long time. It is tough but never loses hope. Be confident because it is a test of your worth and tolerance. Some people can stay like that for nearly thirty minutes!

Some of the runners walk 30 miles per week and compete in marathons. They also swim on a regular basis. Both of these are extremely good exercises and they are supposed to be in a great health condition. Still, they think they need to improve a lot!

Though some people run and race on a regular basis, their leg muscles are not enough strong. But, they do not like to take any other strength training because they think muscles get adequate training while running. Though this case is different from our topic, I will not discuss it here. Somehow, this is true.

You can sign up for a beginning spinning class if you are interested. People who have taken the classes before can help you to get started. Sometimes, instructors may suggest you increase the resistance by turning a knob on the bike but you do not have to do everything they say. Remember, everyone cannot be comfortable at a certain level. So, it is better to turn it as much as you can handle comfortably. Guiding and explaining are the main jobs of spin instructors. So, do not get bothered because they really want all members of their class to succeed.

Conclusion

You have to know a few things during your training period. Discuss things with your instructor personally. They will show you how to determine seat and handle adjustments, three hand positions and many more things! Do ask them about spin bike maintenance too! As you are a beginner, the general knowledge would work great for you. there are some tours, for example, Tour de France where local YMCA offered a Tour de Y challenge which required, at least, two spinning classes a week. Spinning is pretty amazing. It is a great training for running and many other reasons as well.
